Harley-Davidson Motor Company announced Thursday that Harley-Davidson Insurance has entered into an agreement with AMA Pro Racing to become the title sponsor of the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship and the official insurance of the series.
Beginning with Thursday's opening round of the 2011 AMA Pro Flat Track season at Daytona International Speedway, the series will be known as the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Insurance Flat Track Championship. In addition to the title sponsorship, Harley-Davidson Insurance will also provide $100,000 in rider bonus awards for participants in the Grand National Championship, based on final season standings. To be eligible for the bonus award, each Expert level rider must display a Harley-Davidson Insurance logo on his or her riding gear and on their front number plate during all series events.

David Atlas (AMA Pro COO and Managing Member) says: "We're thrilled to welcome Harley-Davidson Insurance as AMA Pro Flat Track's new title sponsor, and by extension the entire Harley-Davidson family. The company has long played a hugely important role in the history of this sport, and their investment in our 2011 series proves they'll continue to do so in its very bright future." In addition to the series title sponsorship, Harley-Davidson Motor Company will separately provide a $66,000 season contingency fund for Twins riders who compete on Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the series' twelve Twins events. The Twins event contingency will pay out a total of $5,500 in contingency per event to the First through Eighth place positions.
